Job Overview

Red Star Energy is seeking an experienced Master Mariner, with a strong preference for candidates demonstrating high compliance management skills, to command a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) supertanker. The captain will hold full responsibility for the maritime safety of the crew, the cargo on board, and all supporting technical operations, while upholding the strictest international standards for marine environmental protection.

The ideal captain must exhibit outstanding leadership, military-style discipline in operating large oil tankers, meticulous cargo handling expertise, seamless coordination with port authorities, and adherence to the highest global administrative standards.

Key Responsibilities

Command and navigate VLCC supertankers with absolute safety under all weather conditions.

Oversee all cargo operations, including loading/unloading and ballast water management.

Ensure strict compliance with STCW, MARPOL, and ISPS Port Security Code regulations.

Train and mentor junior officers and crew, enhancing technical skills and enforcing discipline.

Liaise professionally with international port authorities and fleet management leadership.

Maintain regular servicing of hull, machinery, and emergency safety equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

MANDATORY CERTIFICATES
Master II/2 (Unlimited) – Unlimited First-Class Captain
Advanced Tanker Training (Oil) – Advanced Oil Tanker Operations Training
GMDSS General Operator Certificate – General Radio Electronic Operator Certificate
ECDIS Generic & Type Specific – Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) Certificate
SOFT SKILLS & LANGUAGE
Proficient in Maritime English (Marlins Score >85%)
